Our Company Story

(As told by Tamara K. Anderson)

Several years ago, I was on the back deck of my friend’s home. A few of us were discussing a training we had just completed. Over several months we had become certified to teach and mentor other women. This new company was failing, but we could see the need for the skills we had learned, and we were frustrated after all the time and effort we had invested.

As we sat there in the cool evening breeze, we began to brainstorm what type of support women really need. It became clear that we should start a women’s group, but ours would be different. We wanted to incorporate true and empowering principles, but through a spiritual lens.

We each offered ideas for a name and specifics about the group, but couldn’t seem to land on anything that felt right. We decided to spend some time thinking about it individually.

Later that week I was pondering on this when my mind was opened for inspiration from God. I could see clearly how women are battling daily against the adversary and attacks from the world. God was showing me we needed to teach women to be Warriors of Light.

Paul’s teachings regarding the armor of light in the New Testament have always fascinated me. It was like Paul looked into our very day and saw what women (and men) would be facing.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:12)

Paul expounds what we need to battle as God-Strong warriors in these latter days in Ephesians 6:10, 11, and 13:

“Finally, my brethren [and sisters], be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles (tricks) of the devil. . .

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

The battles are fierce, and women, just like me, are fighting a daily battle, and sometimes we fail because the battles within our souls are especially brutal, and we don’t have the strength ‘to stand.’

Clearly, God inspired this name for the group: "Women Warriors of Light." We offer foundational tools to help women, all women, stand against the adversary whether our battles are physical, mental, or emotional, with God’s help.
