Episode Takeaways
- The Midnight Battleground: Yes, spiritual warfare absolutely happens in our sleep! Dreams are a legitimate battlefront where the adversary tries to catch us off guard to instill fear, dread, and hopelessness.
- The Job & Pilate Principle: Experiencing terrifying dreams does not mean you lack faith. Even Job cried out that God scared him with dreams (Job 7:13-14), and Pilate’s wife suffered intense spiritual torment in her sleep (Matthew 27:19) because of the impending crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
- The Discernment Test: How do you know the source of an intense dream? If the dream serves as a divine warning or lesson from God, it will always be accompanied by a lingering sense of hope, purpose, and clarity. If the dream leaves you feeling trapped, paralyzed by fear, or hopelessly defensive, it is a targeted spiritual attack.
- The Name of Jesus: When you wake up from a dark dream, do not lay there entertaining the dread! Immediately pray, cast the dream out, command the influence to depart in the name of Jesus Christ, and explicitly ask God to dispatch ministering angels to protect your room.

Reflection Questions
- When your children have nightmares, do you usually just brush it off as a "bad dream," or do you recognize it as a moment to actively pray and cast out the adversary's influence?
- Think about the last intense dream you had. Using Tiffany's discernment test, did you wake up feeling hopeful and clear (a warning from God) or trapped and hopeless (a spiritual attack)?
- How can you implement Tiffany's practical tip of playing worshipful, instrumental hymns to change the spiritual atmosphere in your home at bedtime?

And I'm so thrilled to have her on. As we talk about, can spiritual warfare actually happen in our dreams? Since this is one of her spiritual gifts.
All right, let's begin with Tiffany explaining why dreams are a legitimate spiritual battlefront. So, Tiffany, can spiritual warfare happen in dreams?

Oh, absolutely.
I feel like spiritual warfare, whether it's God giving us direction or whether it's the adversary trying to get us to stop doing something or to instill fear in us, like, it absolutely can happen in our dreams. And, and I think, you know, the gift. Dreaming is a gift of the spirit.
We learn in job that, you know, are in the last days, that our old men and our children will have dreams and everyone in between, like, we will. We will have dreams and God will direct us in dreams.
And because it's a, it's a place where Satan can dwell as well, he will try to attack our dreams as well because it's a battleground for him and he's able to affect us if we allow it. But the beautiful thing about that is there are things that we can do to not be afraid to just, to just recognize, okay, this is what it is.
And I'm, okay, I'm going to cast saints influence out in the name of Jesus Christ and I'm going to go back to sleep and even teaching our children that I think is so important that they need to understand. Yeah, sometimes those bad dreams are just adversary messing with us. We.
When my kids were little, I had a few that had some bad dreams, so we started playing songs. Sometimes we. We'd play children's music or, or just like, you know, hymn like music that would help our children to just kind of be at peace.
We'd pray for those angels and they would be able to sleep better when we did that. And so Satan even messes with our kids sometimes. And I think he does that just because he likes to instill fear.
And it's a great way to try to catch us off guard when we're sleeping to instill that fear into us.

I love Tiffany's practical advice about playing instrumental hymns at bedtime. I used to do that exact same thing with my own children, and it did make an immediate difference in the spirit in their rooms.
If you have ever woken up from a terrifying dream feeling physically exhausted or maybe spiritually burdened, you are in good company. In the scriptures.
In job 7, 13, 14, job cries out in the middle of his affliction, when I say, my bed shall comfort me, my couch shall ease my complaint. Then thou scarest me with dreams and terrifiest me through visions.

Job openly described how the battle followed him right into his bed. Think also of Pilate's wife.
In Matthew 27:19, while Pilate was sitting on the judgment seat, she sent an urgent message warning him, have thou nothing to do with that just man? For I have suffered many things this day in dreams.
Because of him, she experienced intense spiritual torment and heavy emotional weight while sleeping because her husband was judging Jesus Christ. I too have experienced nights where I have woken up feeling completely awful, stressed, unclean, or simply not like myself.
Whenever that happens, I don't lay there entertaining the dread. I immediately pray, and in my mind even. And I cast that dream out and command every evil influence to depart.
In the sacred name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Then I ask him to dispatch ministering angels to help protect me, my home and my room.
Now, you may be wondering, how do you know if an intense dream is an attack from Satan or an instructional warning from God? Let's listen to Tiffany share an incredible dream that illustrates the power of discernment and the authority of Christ's sacrifice name.

I think the way, at least for me, that I discern is it's the feeling that it has. Like the fruit of the spirit, right? What's. What's the fruit of it? Like, I can share. I have the gift of Dreams. And so, like, I have a lot of dreams.
And, like, for example, let me share one. That seemed like it would have been scary, but it actually. I actually felt a lot of peace with it.
So in my dream, it was the last days, and there was a lot of destruction that had come in my neighborhood. We had built things back up. We. There we were, had a little community center that we were in. My family was there.
My husband and children and people in our neighborhood were there. And I went out to gather wood for the fire. And as I came out, I saw this huge building that was billowing with smoke, but there were no flames.
It was just this black, thick fog that was coming out of the top of the building. And as it came out, it took the form of a winged creature. Like, scary winged creature. And it was picking people off one by one.
And the spirit in my mind said, don't pay attention to it, because you'll get paralyzed with fear. Go tell everyone else that Satan's here. And I was like, okay. So I run in and I tell my husband, my kids and everyone.
I'm like, you know, Satan's here and he's picking people off. Then the doors opened, and in my mind, like, it was the angel of death that was sweeping the steps. But it was an old woman who was dressed in white.
And she smiled at me, and she said that she was here for those who Satan was taking to be with them in their transition. But she wasn't there for any of my family. And then she just smiled and nodded her head and closed the do doors.
And then as we were sitting there, that smoke went into the chimney and came out through the fireplace, and it took the form of Satan. And he was standing there like. And he was dressed. A very handsome man in a business suit just standing there in front of us.
And behind him were people of all different walks of life. Like women wearing lavish jewelry, construction workers, teenagers with headphones in, businessmen. Just all kinds of people.
And they were staying there. And they were connected to Satan because of their fear of him. It was their fear that was paralyzing them and keeping them stuck to him.
And so Satan, he. He stood up. My husband stood up, and I stood next to him. And my children stood behind us. And our neighbors stood behind. Behind all of us.
Satan said, you have seen my destruction and my power fall to the ground and worship me. And my husband said, we will not. We know who our master is. And Satan got louder and he got more powerful.
And he's like, you have seen what I can Do I command you to fall to the ground and worship me? And my husband said, no, we know who our master is, and we will not fall to the ground and worship you. And then Satan got so mad, and it was so.
It felt so intense and so scary. And he just said, if you do not fall to the ground and worship me, I will destroy you.
And I was about ready to fall to the ground, but my husband again, just took that stance, and he said, we know our master is Jesus Christ, and we will not fall to the ground and worship you. And he. As soon as he said Jesus Christ, an angel of the Lord appeared all dressed in white.
And he cast Satan away and all the people that were with them. And he said, as long as I am here with you, he cannot harm you. And then we stood there with just the angel of the Lord and.
And then I woke up now in that dream. Yeah, it was intense, and it was somewhat terrifying because it literally felt like it was a battle with Satan, but it was still a peace.
It wasn't like a, I'm in trouble here. It wasn't those negative feelings of fear and trepidation and dread. It was more the feelings of, oh, he's scary, but I still feel like there's hope.
It was a lesson for me at the time, and I feel like for my family av the importance of not letting fear stop us from doing the things that God's calling us to do. And recognizing that fear keeps us connected to Satan, keeps us bound to him, as, I mean, so to speak.
And so when we are able to disconnect from him and not be afraid of him and. And be able to call on those angels of the Lord to be with us, then that fear is no longer there, and Satan no longer has power over us.
And so, even though that dream seemed like complete spiritual warfare, the beauty about it is it was a lesson that God was teaching me about what I need to. It comes to the adversary.
I've had other dreams where Satan will use my thoughts to make me think bad things about my husband or think bad things about my children or feel like I'm trapped or something like that. Now that's when I know that it's the adversary, is when I start feeling like there's no hope and there's no way out. That's when Satan comes.
And that's the difference.

That discernment test is the golden key. When a dream originates from God or serves as a divine warning, it will always be accompanied by hope, purpose, and clarity.
But when a dream leaves you feeling hopeless, trapped or paralyzed with fear? You are dealing with a targeted spiritual attack.
As Tiffany Dream so powerfully illustrated, the moment you declare that your master is Jesus Christ, the adversary loses his footing and heaven's angels can be dispatched to help stand guard. Oh my dear sister, my dear friend. You and your family were created to experience sweet, peaceful rest in the Lord.
