I'm your host, Tamara Kay Anderson and I am thrilled to be joined today by the terrific Tiffany Fletcher. She is a mother, author and a fabulous warrior of light.

And together we're going to talk about how to stand battle ready against the darkness by putting on God's armor. Here is our exact blueprint for today's episode.

First, we're going to talk about the blueprint of the wiles, exposing the sneaky attacks of the adversary that try to disrupt our day to day peace.

Second, we're going to dive into the scriptures and find the exact verse that talks about the sneaky tactics of the adversary to disrupt our day to day peace.

Second, we're going to do a deep dive into the pieces of armor, breaking them down one by one and talking about the modern applications you can understand from these pieces of armor taught anciently in Ephesians chapter six. Finally, we're going to talk about the active victory routine.

How to put on daily the light of Jesus Christ to completely safeguard you and your family. But let's begin by pulling back the curtain on this historical text.

If you open your Bible to Ephesians chapter 6, you'll find where Paul details the entire armor of God from about verse 10 to verse 18. To begin, let's first look at verse 10 through 13 to understand the true nature of this battle and why we need the armor. Verse 10.

Finally, my brethren, and I will add my sisters, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. Oh, I love this. Paul is reminding us right out of the gate that we do not fight with our own strength.

Our protection comes from yoking ourselves to the Savior, Jesus Christ. Verse 11. Put on the whole armor of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

I love that it Calls the armor the whole armor of God. This armor of light helps us to stay standing in that fight of light versus darkness.

And then we look at the phrase that we can stand against the wiles of the devil. What in the world are wiles?

When I dove into it, I found that the definition meant a trick, an artifice, or a stratagem specifically designed to fool, trap, or lure you away. Sounds like the devil, right? His primary goal is to entice you off the path that leads back to God. He wants you to be miserable. Verse 12.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. This is a massive wake up call for mothers. Your husband is not the enemy. Your children are not the enemy. The conflict is spiritual, not physical.

Verse 13. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day.

And having done all to stand, God does not leave us exposed, my friend. He gives us a complete protective suit of light so that when the darkness hits, we can hold our ground and stand victoriously.

If we want to push back darkness, we have to look closely at our enemy. Listen as Tiffany Fletcher breaks down how the adversary operates in an ordinary schedule.

So the scripture has always been one that has been fascinating to me because I think that sometimes we don't give the adversary enough credit. Those wiles of the devil are there. He is very much in our lives trying to mess with us, trying to destroy our peace. He's the father of all lies.

He is very cunning. We don't even recognize that he's there because he's so sly and he's so good at his job. He's had so many years to, to do what he's doing.

And so I love the armor, putting on the armor of God and the armor of light. Because light pushes back darkness, right? So if we want to push back the devil in our lives and the adversary, then we need to increase our light.

We need to put on this full armor of God so that when he comes at us, we can stand.

And to me, you know, standing against the devil seems scary, but in all reality, when you do it with God and with his light and with his armor, it is not scary at all.

You are powerful and you are able to use God's light and the armor that we bear as his children to combat the devil, to stand firm, to know courageously that, that we will win, that when we stand against him, we will win.

I Love that. Tiffany reminds us that light inherently pushes back darkness.

But to carry that light effectively, we have to move past ancient metaphors and understand what this armor of light looks like in in our practical, everyday life. First, girding our loins with truth, anciently soldiers tucked their long flowing robes into their belts so they wouldn't trip mid battle.

Today, we can apply the same principle by clearing out the spiritual loose ends of clutter that may cause us to stumble and instead anchor our minds firmly in Jesus Christ, his absolute truth, so that we are focused and ready. Second is the breastplate of righteousness.

In ancient times, this heavy, thick metal plate guarded the soldier's vital organs, especially the heart, from fatal blows. Today, God's breastplate of righteousness protects against the adversary's emotional attacks of shame and unworthiness.

When we choose to repent and forgive with the Savior's help, serve and actively track how God shows up for us. These are the works of righteousness that protect our heart. Next, it talks about shotting our feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace.

Basically, this means putting on ancient heavy footwear. Roman soldiers wore heavy soled sandals fitted with studs to give them a secure, unshakable foothold on the ground, even on rough terrain.

For us, this means gripping onto the peace of Jesus Christ and walking in a peaceful path so that chaos doesn't cause us to slip. That means taking intentional pauses to process heavy emotions or ground our households.

This is only achievable as we walk the path of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Make a mistake, repent, it's all good. We all make mistakes. Just keep walking with Jesus on that path of peace. Next is the shield of faith.

Ancient shields were large wood and leather barriers that the soldiers soaked in water to instantly extinguish incoming arrows that were dipped in pitch. Today, our faith acts as that wet shield, quenching the enemy's flaming darts of doubt. Give those doubts to God.

Give he can take them and handle them or even put them on the shelf while you actively focus on faith and remembering how God has showed up in your life and project that faith into the future that God will not leave you. He will stand by you. Next is the helmet of salvation.

A soldier never entered the battlefield without a helmet to shield his head from crushing fatal blows. Today, our our armor of light helmet guards our mind where the fiercest battles are. And what does the helmet symbolize? Salvation.

We're thinking about Jesus and using divine affirmations to shut down the adversary's lies and negative self talk. Finally, we have our weapon, the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

The ancient sword used for close proximity battles was short, using offensive strategy to cut right through the opponent's defenses. This word of God is our primary weapon today.

We use it by using powerful verses in our line of sight, like on our phone wallpapers or maybe sticky notes on our mirror that slice through the enemy's deceptions. For example, one of the verses we use today, I am strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.

Or one of my personal favorites, Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.

When you consciously choose to emulate Christ and His characteristics, every single day you are putting on his armor of light, a protective suit that darkness cannot penetrate. Let's listen as Tiffany shares how this shift can transform our daily walk.

Tiffany Fletcher

00:10:10.490 - 00:10:43.790

Light dispels darkness. We know that and that.

We know that Jesus Christ is the light and that if we put him on, if we put on his gospel, his characteristics, his love, try to fill ourselves with his love. That's something that I've been working on and, and sometimes it's hard when you get frustrated.

But when you cast that influence of the adversary out and then you pray for those angels and that spirit of love to be with you, it is life changing for you every single day. And it's life changing for your children too. Like, I have seen a difference.

Tamara K. Anderson

00:10:43.790 - 00:11:53.640

I love that so much.

When you cast out the adversary's influence and pray for those angels and the spirit of love to be with you, it is life changing for you and your family. So, my friend, if you're ready to step into your divine nature as a woman warrior of light, we want to give you this amazing gift.
