Episode Takeaways

  • The Absolute Expiration Date (Revelation 20:1-3): Spiritual warfare is not eternal. The adversary is a created being with a countdown clock! An angel will bind him for a literal thousand-year era of unbroken peace, uninterrupted light, and complete safety for believers.
  • When Vigilance Ends (Isaiah 11 & Revelation 21): The end of spiritual warfare is not just a ceasefire; it is a complete restoration. God Himself will wipe away every tear you have shed over a wandering child or midnight heartache.
  • Peace in the Meantime (Mark 4:35-41): You do not have to wait for the Millennium to experience the Savior's peace. Just as Jesus calmed the raging Sea of Galilee with three words ("Peace, be still"), He can speak a great calm into your home and anxious mind today. Intentionally seek quiet reprieves in nature and worship to recharge your spirit!
  • Yoked to Christ (Matthew 11:28-30): In an agricultural yoke, a strong ox bears the heavy weight of the load alongside a younger ox. When you yoke yourself to Jesus Christ, He carries the real weight of the battle while you simply walk in step with Him.

Hey my friend, have you ever wondered when does spiritual warfare actually end?

Because you are in the thick of a relentless battle for your home, your marriage or your children and you feel battle weary, wondering if this constant spiritual friction will ever cease.

If you need hope to keep standing, stay tuned.

Because by the end of today's episode, you will know the guaranteed expiration date of the adversary's power, the glorious era of peace promised to your family and and how the Savior Jesus Christ gives you the quiet reprieves of stillness right in the middle of the storm.

Let's dive in Ordinary women Extraordinary Faith When God calls, we say yes.

Hello and welcome back to the Arise Women of God podcast.

I'm your host Tamara K. Anderson, and today's episode is all about hope and lifting our eyes off the immediate skirmish and fixing them on the glorious finish line God has prepared for us as foretold in Scripture.

Here's what we will share in today's episode.

First, the absolute expiration date, what Revelations 20 and Romans 16 reveal about the binding of Satan.

Second, we'll talk about when vigilance ends, Isaiah's prophecy of God's holy mountain, and the day God wipes away every tear from your eyes.

Third, we'll talk about peace.

Be still in the meantime, where I'll share a scripture and a personal story about how to find quiet reprieves of peace.

And finally, we will talk about being yoked with Christ to the finish line and how Matthew 11 and 2 Timothy 4 give us stamina to finish our course with our faith intact.

But let's kick it off with the truth that spiritual warfare has an absolute expiration date.

Hooray.

When you are walking through prolonged warfare, it can feel like darkness will never lift.

But Scripture reveals that the adversary is not an equal opposite to God.

He is a created being with a countdown clock hanging over his head.

Let's look at Revelation 20, verses 1 through 3 and I saw an angel come down from heaven having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent which is the devil and Satan, and bound him and a thousand years and cast him into the bottomless pit and shut him up and set a seal upon him that he should deceive the nations no more.

Think about that scene.

A single angel descends with a key and a chain, lays hold of the dragon and locks him up in the bottomless pit, shutting the door.

A literal thousand year era of unbroken peace, uninterrupted light and complete safety is prophesied for believers on this earth, the deceiver will not be allowed to whisper a single lie to your children or sow one seed of discord in your home.

In Romans 16:20, Paul gives us this staggering promise.

And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Amen.

Notice God's title, the God of Peace.

He is not just going to defend the line, he's going to crush the adversary directly beneath your feet.

And Paul says it will happen shortly.

In the timeline of eternity, this mortal struggle is brief.

The adversary's eviction is signed, sealed, and waiting to be executed by the King of Kings.

As Christian mothers, so much of our daily energy is spent functioning as spiritual security guards.

We monitor devices, filter media, watch the emotional climate of our kitchen, and pray over bedroom doorways.

And we guard the innocence of our kids against a culture that is drifting further from the truth.

It is exhausting to live on high alert.

Look at what life looks like when spiritual warfare ends in Isaiah 11, 6, 9.

The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together, and a little child shall lead them.

They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord.

Wow.

Can you imagine an earth where danger, hostility and deception simply do not exist?

Where a mother never has to worry about predators, toxic influence or spiritual traps.

And look at the tender restoration promised in Revelation 21:3,4.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away.

The end of spiritual warfare is not just a ceasefire, it is a complete restoration.

Every tear you have shed over a wandering teenager, every midnight prayer whispered in agony, and every heartache caused by spiritual opposition will be tenderly wiped away by the hand of God himself.

Oh, how I look forward to that day.

Now, you might be saying, Tamara, the millennium sounds wonderful, but I am living in the trenches today.

How do I survive right now?

Well, we've survived by knowing that we do not have to wait for the millennium to experience the Savior's peace.

Look at Mark 4, verses 35 through 41.

Jesus and his disciples were on a boat in the Sea of Galilee when a furious storm hit.

The waves were crashing over the sides, filling the boat with water, while Jesus slept peacefully on a pillow.

Terrified, the disciples woke him and cried, master, carest thou not that we perish.

Jesus stood up, rebuked the raging wind, and commanded the sea, peace, be still.

Scripture records that the wind immediately ceased and there was a great calm.

Notice the storm didn't end because the disciples paddled harder or bailed water faster.

It ended the second the Master spoke.

Jesus Christ has that same capacity to speak a great calm into your home, into your anxious mind, and into your family right now.

But I invite you to intentionally seek those quiet reprieves.

Just this past weekend, my husband and I went camping up in the mountains.

As I sat there quietly overlooking a stunning mountain lake, watching the water reflect God's majesty, my soul was filled to overflowing with his peace.

It was a sacred breath of fresh air, a divine pause that recharged my spirit and gave me fresh courage to step back into the work.

Remembering those moments of peace carries us through hard days.

I remember during the uncertainty of COVID when churches were closed, we gathered in our living room for home church.

We sang hymns together, our children gave many sermons, and we studied God's word around the couch.

I never imagined our home could feel that sweet and reverent.

Another time, during that season of COVID we held church outside in a national park, worshiping God while looking across his breathtaking creation.

God provides oasis moments in the desert when the battle feels heavy, step away, turn off the noise, sit by the water, look at the mountains, or gather your family to sing.

Take time to be still and know that he is God, so that when you return from those quiet moments, you don't have to step back into the battle alone.

In Matthew, chapter 11, verses 28:30, the Savior invites you, Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest unto your soul.

For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

In an agricultural yoke, an experienced, strong ox is harnessed alongside a younger ox to bear the heavy weight of the load.

When you yoke yourself to the Lord Jesus Christ, you are not pulling that heavy burden alone.

Christ carries the real weight of the battle while you simply walk in step with Him.

For each of us personally, spiritual warfare also has an individual finish line.

At the end of his life, the apostle Paul looked back over decades of intense persecution, shipwrecks and warfare, and boldly declared in 2 Timothy 4, 7, 8, I have fought a good fight.

I have finished my course.

I have kept the faith.

Henceforth there is laid up for me, a crown of Righteousness.

Oh my dear sister, you are living in the last days before the Savior returns.

You were chosen for this specific hour in the Earth's history.

Hang in there.

Be true to God.

Stay yoked to your Redeemer.

When you cross your earthly finish line with your faith intact, the adversary's arrows can never reach you again.

You will step directly into the arms of the one who conquered it all while we look forward with joy to that final day of peace.

We have work to do right now to keep our homes anchored in light.
