Hello and welcome to another episode of the Arise Women of God podcast.
I'm your host, Tamara K. Anderson, and joining me today is the energetic and raw Bonnie Randall, who is a powerful warrior of light, and we're excited to tackle the answer to your question about why God is silent sometimes and we assume he has simply walked away. I'm going to kick it off by sharing a Bible verse that could be a possible reason for why you might be hearing static.
And it's not a very fun one to read, but it is a cause that I found I have to deal with and that Bonnie will share that she had to deal with later in the podcast episode so that we could hear heaven more clearly again. Isaiah 59:2 powerfully reminds us of a hard truth that sometimes blocks us from hearing heaven.
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you. It sounds harsh, doesn't it? But this verse is actually more about alignment and that's what we're going to talk about today.
Think of the prodigal son story in Luke chapter 15. The son left the Father, but the Father never stopped watching the horizon.
He was right there, ready and waiting for the moment his son turned around. I love the quote From Christian author C.S. Lewis where he famously said, the gates of hell are locked from the inside.
We are the ones who are in charge of the radio frequency with the divine, and sometimes we are the one who steps behind the wall. God isn't hiding. Sometimes we've just created too much static to hear. Bonnie has a perfect analogy.
She's now going to share for how this works in our daily lives.

Think of your spiritual connection with him. Kind of like a two way radio, right? Where when you speak on a two way radio, you both have to be on the same channel, Correct?
And if you're not on the same channel, what do you hear? Just static. And so sometimes when we are out of alignment with God, that's creating static on the channel.
And the voice is there, but it's a little muffled. It might not be super clear and kind of hard to understand.
We might be getting signs, but we might be doubting them or not seeing them as he's trying to communicate to us. Because the truth is, he's on the other end of that radio. It's just us who needs to turn the dial a little bit.

If the channel is full of static, the voice is there, but it's muffled. We might even see signs from him, but we doubt them because the reception is so poor.
Bonnie found this out the hard way when she was trying to write a book about this very subject. And a stupor or confusion became her first clue that she was actually out of alignment.

What's going on? How come I'm not getting anything? Because normally when I do this, you and I are here. What's happening?
And I immediately received a little bit of a rebuke. It was gentle, it was loving. He wasn't mean, he wasn't chastising me or putting me down.
But he said, bonnie, you are out of alignment not only with me, but with your family. And then I remembered a tiff I had just gotten into with my husband and an argument I had had with my daughter.
And he said, you can't be in harmony with me if you're not in harmony here. And if you're not in harmony with other people, this is creating static for us. Go repent. Go fix the problem and then come back to me.

You can't be in harmony with the father if you are in discord with his children. Isn't that fascinating? That is the static that Bonnie had to clear.
She had to humble herself and fix the earthly connections before the heavenly one would open back up. And the moment she did, the results were instantaneous.

So I had to humble myself. I had to go talk to my husband, who, you know, we were kind of still mad at each other, but I went and I apologized to him.
We made up, we talked about it. And then I went and did the same thing with my daughter. And I felt this burden lift off of my body.
And then I sat down on my computer, I said a prayer. I was like, I'm so sorry. You're right. I had made them upset. I'm so sorry. Is there anything else I need to do to come back in alignment with you?
And he said, you've done it. I'm proud of you. Thank you for being more humble and ready to receive.
And then it was a wave of waterfall and I got all the information and I was able to use what little time I had left to write.
What came to me was just a beautiful section about God's love and his redemption and how he rescues us and his he uses broken people to make beautiful things come to pass.
It was such a beautiful moment for me to learn that I needed to come back in alignment with him in order to receive something so beautiful that not only will touch my life and my family's, but hopefully others.
