Hey, my friend, have you ever wondered, how does spiritual warfare actually work? Because when sudden chaos erupts in your home, maybe irrational mood shifts.
Maybe it feels heavy or dark, or you feel uncharacteristically angry, confused. Maybe you start to feel just exhausted trying to understand how invisible forces are impacting your home. Well, my friend, I hear you on this.
It can feel so overwhelming. And I know you want to know how to stop the attack.
Well, stay tuned because by the end of today's episode, you will know how the adversary operates, how to spot his tactics, and how the supreme authority of Jesus Christ can override the physical chaos. Let's dive in. Ordinary women Extraordinary faith When God calls, we say yes.
The Arise Women of God Podcast hello and welcome back to the Arise Women of God Podcast. I'm your host, Tamara K. Anderson, and today we are opening up the Spiritual Battle Manual to look at the exact mechanics of spiritual warfare.
And today we're going to answer three questions. First question, how does the adversary actually operate? Second, how do I know when he is attacking? And third, what can I actually do about it?
Let's kick it off with our first question. How does the adversary actually operate? And does he have unlimited power?
To understand how spiritual warfare works, we first have to understand the baseline environment we live in. In 1 John, chapter 5, verse 19, John writes, and we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
This verse establishes our spiritual baseline. The default cultural current of this world is influenced by darkness. Think of it like a river. If you're not intentionally swimming upstream.
In Christ, the natural cultural current will carry you and your home and the environment around you downriver. Now, does the adversary have unlimited power? Absolutely not. Satan operates under strict boundaries.
He cannot just do whatever he wants whenever he wants.
Instead, he is sneaky and looks for open doors, like the music or you listen to or the movies you watch, or maybe the social media that you're looking at. He also targets unaddressed vulnerabilities, like unresolved anger, maybe hidden fears, trauma, chaotic busyness.
Anything that's moving your mood up and down to try to sneak in. Spiritual warfare operates on a cause and effect basis. The enemy uses those subtle open doors to drop seeds of doubt and strife.
But when you recognize that his power is limited, you stop fearing his noise and start closing the doors in your life. This brings us to our second question. How do I know when he is attacking? And how does this darkness affect me and my environment, my home?
You see the unseen world manifest through tangible physical signs.
Sudden, unexplained drops in your home's spiritual temperature, maybe irrational bickering with your spouse or heavy clouds of anxiety over you or your children. Sometimes it just feels off.
When a trial in your home feels impossibly heavy, remember this crucial Spiritual laws override physical laws look at the story of Elisha and the floating axe head in 2 Kings, chapter 6, verses 1 through 7. A young prophet was cutting trees to build a larger living space when his borrowed iron ax head fell deep into the Jordan River.
Devastated, he cried out to Elisha, elisha cut a stick, threw it into the water, and miraculously made that heavy iron axe head float to the surface. In the physical world, heavy iron sinks. That is a physical law.
But when God's spiritual power was invited into that situation, a higher supernatural law completely overrode the physical impossibility. Oh, my sister.
When anxiety, grief, or family conflict feels as heavy as an iron axe head sitting at the bottom of a river, human effort cannot make it float.
But when you invite in our Savior Jesus Christ into your situation, into your home, his spirit and his laws of peace and order can override the physical chaos every single time. You may be wondering, how do I tap into that? How do I cast out that darkness and bring in light?
Going to teach you how to do that at the end of today's episode. So hang in there. This leads us to our final question. What can I actually do about it? And why does speaking the name of Jesus stop an attack?
In 1 John 3. 8, Scripture reveals one of the primary missions of Jesus Christ.
For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil. Isn't that great to know that's part of Christ's work?
The word destroy in the original text means to untie, dissolve, and break the legal power of something.
So one of the reasons Jesus Christ came to earth was to specifically dismantle and unravel every legal hold the adversary tries to place on you or your family. Look at how this works.
In Mark, chapter 5, verses 1 through 20, a man possessed by a legion of dark spirits lived among the tombs, breaking iron chains and crying out in agony. But when Jesus stepped off the boat, those dark spirits immediately recognized his supreme authority.
They ran to him, bowed before him, and begged him for mercy. Jesus commanded them out, and instantly the man was restored to his right mind, sitting and behaving calmly. Here's the spiritual takeaway from that.
Darkness operates under strict boundaries and must yield to light and to Christ's command. When you stand in your home and pray in the name of Jesus Christ. You are not expressing a feeble hope.
You are executing a legally binding decree backed by the Son of God himself. Darkness has no legal choice. It must bow and leave your home.
When you understand the rules of engagement, know how to close open doors and speak in the name of Jesus Christ with authority, you stop fighting defensively and start walking in victory.
