Are You Carrying Too Much This Summer?

biblical rest for women christian encouragement faith-based self-care let go and let god women of faith inspiration yoked with christ Jun 25, 2025

Dear Warrior Sister,

Summer is here—a season full of sunshine, family adventures, and... a whole lot of unpredictability.

As women, we often find ourselves carrying all the things: planning the meals, juggling schedules, mediating sibling conflicts, and trying to keep everyone happy and growing.

It’s no wonder we end up feeling overwhelmed, heavy, and stretched thin.

At our most recent Women Warriors of Light gathering, we had a powerful discussion about the burdens we carry and the sacred invitation Christ offers us:
“Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

We looked at the story of Mary and Martha in Luke 10, where Jesus gently reminded Martha—who was “cumbered about with much serving”—to pause and simply be with Him.

That reminder is for us too. When we take time to sit at the feet of Christ--even for a moment (you can call it a "grown up time-out"), we shift from carrying burdens alone to sharing them with Him. And everything feels lighter.

We also talked about how sometimes the goals we set don’t match what God needs us to do in the right order. That’s okay.

As faith-led women, we’re learning to pivot, to follow His impressions—and to trust that we are enough in Christ, even on the days we fall short.

So here’s our summer invitation to you:
🌿 Pause.
🌿 Breathe.
🌿 Sit with Jesus. Visualize handing Him the burdens you bear.
🌿 Let Him carry the weight with you.
