Welcome to another episode of the Arise Women of God Podcast. I'm your host, Tamara K. Anderson. I am so excited to have you guys on today. I'm doing something very special today.

I am giving you guys a sneak peek into our accountability group that we have at Women warriors of Light. Now, before I tell you the story here, I need to give you a little bit of background.

Every Monday morning, we have a small accountability group of Christian women who are working towards a goal God has placed on their heart. And we come together and we share what God impressed us to do that week, maybe some of the beautiful things we were able to accomplish.

We also talk about the obstacles that we're facing because often when we're making progress, there are challenges that we have to kind of navigate and overcome or figure out, how do I do this?

Because growth always requires change, and change is easier when you have a sisterhood or a group of a mentor and a group that you're working with, then you don't feel so alone anyway. So I'm going to be quite vulnerable in this storytelling part of it.

But it is beautiful to see that when I open up and share, then several of the other women feel comfortable that they can open up and share as well about how they have. They have had similar experiences and they relate to something that was shared. So enjoy this sneak peek.

So these past few weeks it's been different because it's been so much focus on family which has been awesome. But I've also had some beautiful and powerful experiences, kind of in between connection with God and feeling closer to him.

And then I hit this this past weekend, and it was like the adversary was like, oh, she's making progress. Stop her.

And so, like, literally, I showed up at church yesterday, and I'm doing all this casting out because I can feel, feel the adversary just attacking relentlessly. And I had felt that for, like, the last, I don't know, 24, 48 hours before I went to church Sunday morning. And I just was like, what is going on?

Felt like this huge weight on my shoulders and feeling so discouraged. And I'm just like, this is so opposite of how I normally function. Do you know what I mean? But it was.

And, and I finally, you know, here we are getting ready to take the sacrament and, or the communion. And I was just like, heavenly Father, I have done everything I can think of to remove this weight. And I said, I don't know what it is.

I'm trying to get rid of it. It's really heavy, and it's just dragging me down.

And I heard the whispers in my mind saying, tamara, these are some chains that the adversary has thrown at you. And I said, okay, I have tried to remove them, and I'm not having much success.

And so here I am taking the sacrament, and I'm just like, will you help me? Will you help send whatever angels I need to remove these chains to help me feel free from them?

And I found it so interesting that it happened during the sacrament because that is what the whole purpose of the sacrament it is to free us from. Usually it's the burdens of sin.

But for some reason, for me yesterday, it was from the spiritual attacks and weights that were being thrown upon me to, you know, just grab her, drag her down, you know, by the end of the sacrament, it was such a beautiful experience. I felt free. And I, I, I don't know how it happened other than to say, I lay my burdens at his feet and he took them.

And it doesn't always happen that fast. So I don't know what was the magic about that moment.

I'm very thankful that when the adversary is attacking that we are not alone, that God is with us in that battle. And when we have done all we can do, we can reach out and say, what else do I need to ask for? What else do I need to pray for?

Because I'm kind of at a loss here.

And I, I found some beautiful verses that I wanted to share with you that I think can apply to all of us in our battles, lessons from adversity, or when you feel the adversary attacking. Right? These are the verses that I felt drawn to share with you, and they are verses from the New Testament in 1st Peter 5, 5 through 10.

But I initially started with this verse. It says, because your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour.

And that is how I felt going into Sunday, that my adversary was seeking to devour me. And so that is where I want to now go back and read these verses to you and show you some key things that I've learned from this experience.

He says, be clothed with humility, for God resisteth the proud and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon you, for he careth for you.

Isn't that beautiful? And then be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour.

Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

But the grace, but the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen and settle you. And I know some of those words and the way they say them are kind of little ancient. And so what I did is I kind of did my takeaways here.

First, that humility gives us access to God's grace and exaltation in his time. Second, that he cares for us. What a powerful statement. God cares for me. And you can cast all your care upon him. And that. Such a good reminder.

Next, be wise and watchful in your battle against the adversary. Resist him with the power of faith. I love that. That's one of the things that it taught us in those verses, that we can overcome him by faith.

That you're not alone in trials and tribulations. It's said in the verses that, brethren, that everyone all over the world is afflicted by these things.

And we've learned that in a small measure here today. All of us are having struggles. All of us are battling these battles.

And that after our trials will be made perfect, strong, established and settled Jesus Christ. And so that has kind of given me light and courage to. I love this image. Lean on Christ. That is what I feel.

It has taught me more than anything is I can lean on Christ and He will strengthen and empower me in all of the heaviness, because it really is a battle out there. Anyway, any thoughts on that, ladies?

Andrea High

00:09:20.850 - 00:10:09.180

I'm teaching the lesson on Sunday. So I've been studying the principle, but it was this topic around the verse that God will turn all things for your good.

So I was just thinking about it a lot as you're going through those scriptures. And I think it's saying the same things. We just gone through hard things, but it's all going to be for our good in the end.

And, oh, my goodness, I love. Okay, second thought. This way that he describes the devil is like a lion walking about, seeking whom he may desire.

And I, of course, am thinking about how am I going to present that concept to my young woman. And I thought about Scar and Mufasa and the Lion King, and they're both lions.

In my head, I'm like, I'm going to use that picture and I'm going to talk about these scriptures. But anyway, that's pretty great scriptures. Powerful description. So, So thank you.

Anyone else?

Wendi Christensen

00:10:14.940 - 00:10:46.070

I just echo everything you guys have said. It's just. It's. It's beautiful to see just God's plan playing out and.

And just his intentions and how he truly blesses and helps each one of us with wherever we are. And it doesn't matter if you're in the. In the place of I'm doing a lot or I'm not doing a lot.

I think he just cares that we're moving one step forward. And I think that that's a beautiful thing to watch and see each of us and each of you making those steps forward.

And when you feel like you're going backwards, you're not.

Tamara K. Anderson

Jackie

Jackie Parker

00:10:49.230 - 00:10:57.510

I was thinking about that line. I don't know if I'll get it right, but in the scripture that said, cast your burden upon him, for he cares about you.

Tamara K. Anderson

00:10:57.830 - 00:10:58.310

Yeah.

Jackie Parker

00:10:58.870 - 00:11:27.710

So that's been going over and over in my head, and. I don't know, I just started getting this. This really tender feeling that he's with me for all of this. Right.

He cares about me and he's with me and he knows what's going on, right? Like, he can see it. He can see that his answers don't make any sense to me. Like, he can see all of it. Right? But he. He's still with me.

He's got me and he's protecting me.

Carma Brown

00:11:28.620 - 00:11:33.820

And it also said, cast your burden upon the Lord and he will defend thee.

Tamara K. Anderson

00:11:34.300 - 00:11:36.300

Oh, yeah, yeah.

Carma Brown

00:11:36.380 - 00:11:43.180

That's part of that scripture. He will not cause the righteous to fall. He is on thy right hand.

Tamara K. Anderson

00:11:43.820 - 00:11:48.140

Yeah, that's a powerful verse. I think it's in the Old Testament.

Carma Brown

00:11:48.380 - 00:11:48.940

It is.

Tamara K. Anderson

00:11:50.540 - 00:13:15.150

All right, ladies.

Well, I am so thankful that we've had this time together that we've been able to commune with each other and feel like, oh my goodness, we're not alone in the struggles that we're dealing with, that God can bless and empower us.

I love the verses on reminding us to be humble, to be vigilant against the attacks, but also to know that we're in a sisterhood here and that we can love and support one another as we it almost feels like two steps forward, one step back, because we start getting that momentum and the adversary is like, no, but.

But the good news is because we're shoulder to shoulder with our Savior and with our sisters, that we have somebody we can link arms with and we can take that forward momentum together, that we're not alone. And that gives me such great comfort and joy to know that I'm not walking alone, that you ladies are there beside me. So I love you all.

You're wonderful, and I admire each of you in the battles that you're facing, but also the faith that you're facing your battles with.
